Biografia
Associate Professor at the Technical University of Bari since September 2025, his research activity deals with applied thermodynamics and novel devices for energy efficiency. He graduated in 2006, with honours, in Engineering. In 2011 he earned the Ph.D. defending his thesis with a dissertation entitled "Nanomaterials and smart nanodevices for transparent building envelopes", dealing with design and characterization of photovoltachromic devices: a new concept for smart glazing. He has been working as a postdoctoral researcher within the Energy Platform of IIT and for Università del Salento. He is currently adjunct researcher at CNR Nanotec.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
-2006-2008 - Freelance: Professional activities in the field of building construction, energy saving, real estate estimate.
-2008-2010 - Phd student at Politecnico di Bari: Cross-disciplinary research activity in the field of nanomaterials and smart devices for architectural glazings, with a special focus on highly transparent antireflective/superhydrophobic thin films and photovoltachromic devices. Such experimental research wascarried out in collaboration with Laboratorio Nazionale di Nanotecnologie of Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche.
2011-2014 - Postdoctoral researcher at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT): the main focus of this research activity was the design, fabrication, and characterization of innovative multifunctional glasses, able to produce electric energy by means of photovoltaic conversion as well as to undergo a smart modulation of their Transmittance (Visible and Near Infrared wavelengths). These experimental activities were carried out within the Energy Platform.
-2015-2016 (February) Postdoctoral researcher at Università del Salento, Dipartimento di Matematica e Fisica E. De Giorgi: design, fabrication and characterization of solid state chromogenic devices for integration in buildings or cars and aircrafts. Solid state photovoltachromic devices and single substrate solid state devices were fabricated.
-2016 (February) - Today Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Bari: Research activity in the field of Applied thermodynamics and Building physics, aiming at energy saving and visual comfort assessment associated to building integrated innovative devices (highly transparent perovskite-based devices and chromogenic devices). Teaching activities of Applied Thermodynamics in the engineering courses.

2009 - Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (INFM) Fellowship dealing with the development of selfcleaning surfaces for industrial uses.
2010 - Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia Fellowship dealing with the development of novel architectures for photovoltachromic devices
2016 Politecnico di Bari Research activity within the Action Co-founded by Cohesion and Development Fund 20072013 APQ Research Puglia Region Regional programme supporting smart specialization and social and environmental sustainability FutureInResearch.

2015: Adjunct Researcher at CNR-Nanotec from april 2015 to december 2015 and from july 2018 to date.
2018: Italian Ministry of University and Research: National scientific qualification for the profile of associate professor in the disciplinary scientific field of Applied Thermodynamics.
Currently, Guest Editor for the international scientific journal "Buildings", with a special issue entitled: "Novel Technologies to Enhance Energy Performance and Indoor Environmental Quality of Buildings".
Editorial board membership: scientific peer-review journal Energies (OApress USA) since July 2018.
